Codec Licensing Notice
This application invokes external media processing tools and system-provided codecs through standard command-line interfaces. It does not bundle, distribute, or provide any codec implementations.
Patent and licensing considerations
Certain audio and video codecs—including but not limited to H.264 (AVC), H.265 (HEVC), AAC, and MPEG-2—may be subject to patents held by third parties. Use of these codecs for encoding or distribution in commercial contexts may require separate patent licenses.
Open, royalty-free codecs such as AV1, VP9, Opus, and FLAC are not subject to these patent restrictions.
User responsibility
This application relies entirely on codecs and tools installed by the user or provided by their operating system. Users are solely responsible for:
- Ensuring their use of any codecs complies with applicable patent licenses
- Obtaining necessary licenses for commercial use where required
- Compliance with the terms of any third-party software they install
