5 Best WMA to WAV Converters in 2026

If your editor won’t open an old WMA recording, a WAV copy may be all you need. Here are five conversion options I found, including free apps, with screenshots to help you get started.

1. How to Convert

Mac, Windows, Linux · $29 once

This is the one I made. It handles almost any file, so you can convert a recording here and use the same app for photos, video and documents. It finds and runs the conversion tools for you.

  1. 1. Add your files. Drag your WMA files into How to Convert.

  2. 2. Choose the output and convert. Choose WAV from the output menu and click Convert.
